Written and recorded in 1994, I’ll Stand by You was taken from The Pretenders sixth album, Last of the Independents. It’s without a doubt their most well known song globally, especially since its use in the pilot episode of Dawson’s Creek. However, it also has been covered by Girls Aloud, Carrie Underwood and Shakira. The chart itself contains some interesting fills but none that are complicated. Initially, they may look scary but once you realise that the speed is a very sedate 67 bpm, the fills suddenly look much less scary!
