Within Temptation are a Dutch Symphonic Rock act.
The single “Faster” the first from their fifth album “The Unforgiving”. This album marked a departure for them as it was written as a concept album complete with graphic novels and mini movies which you can find on YouTube.
The drum part for this track is another fine example of playing a supporting role and using the kit to support and drive the song along.
Unusually, the quarter notes are not played on either hi-hats, ride or crash but on a china cymbal with very short decay. This creates an interesting vibe to the song without overpowering it.
Overall, this song shouldn’t take too long to learn, but will be a lot of fun to play through.
