Marillion – Sugar Mice

Released in 1987, just two years after the smash hits Kayleigh and Lavender, Sugar Mice reached number 22 in the UK music charts. The album this was taken from – Clutching at Straws – charted higher than the single at number 2 on the album chart, missing out on the top spot to Whitney Houston’s second album, Whitney. Sugar Mice is still part of the Marillion live set, despite the departure of Fish a year after the single was released.

The chart is, for the most part, simple and needs no explanation. Timing is essential to making sure the fills are executed correctly. For me, this chart is as much fun to play as any of the more complex charts as the drumming perfectly supports the song. As with any chart here, please do feel free to share this, download and enjoy playing it!
